Family Hospice Inpatient Center Canterbury – Lawrenceville                                                        Click photo to zoom

  • Family Hospice’s second Inpatient Hospice Center is located on the campus of UPMC Senior Living's Canterbury Place. It provides round-the-clock expert treatment of symptoms that cannot be managed successfully at home. The stay is generally short-term, depending on the time it takes to achieve comfort. An interdisciplinary team, including palliative care certified physicians, nursing and counseling services, cares for our guests.
  • Family Hospice's Inpatient Center - Canterbury is located on the campus of UPMC Senior Living’s Canterbury Place at 310 Fisk Street in the Lawrenceville section of the City of Pittsburgh, just 10 minutes east of Downtown.
  • All rooms are decorated to create a home-like environment. Each patient room has a flat-screen television and private restroom.
  • Several communal spaces throughout The Center/Canterbury allow patients and their guests to relax in comfort. The Family Room has a large, flat screen television and is wired for internet access. The Family Room opens onto an outdoor space with a panoramic view of the surrounding communities.
  • Patient meals are prepared on-site. Guests are invited to make use of the fully-equipped communal kitchen.
  • This dining space adjoins the communal kitchen.
  • Guests of The Center/Canterbury are invited to share in a number of the amenities that Canterbury Place has to offer, including its historic Chapel, located on the first floor.
  • The Solarium on the ground floor of Canterbury Place is a welcoming space for patients and families.
  • Guests can access this expansive patio from the Solarium.
  • Our Compassionate Caregiver Training Program is offered at no cost to Family Hospice caregivers. It is an opportunity for hands-on training in the use of equipment, a review of the physical care and safety of caregiver and patient, the use of medications and “what to expect” in the care of your loved one at home. This two-hour training is available at The Center/Canterbury by appointment. Call 412-572-8740 for information and registration.
  • Family Hospice's Inpatient Center - Canterbury is open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are a number of free parking spaces reserved for guests of The Center/Canterbury in the Canterbury Place garage.
